Teeth (2007)
It was obvious after reading the premise of this one what exactly was going to transpire.
I must admit I had to mentally prepare to watch this film. It's been on Netflix for a while and I've avoided it at all costs. For this Terror Tuesday post I figured what better time to make myself endure it, and now that I've seen it so should you.
Check out the trailer...If you have Netflix and are a guy watch it and never want to have sex again. If you're a girl, wish it was you.

Happy Easter
So it has been stated previously on this blog that I despise how commercial holidays have become. Yet, I too had to purchase stuff for my boys... Just thought I would share some cool pics to commemorate this event.
And for those of you who require a more "spiritual" holiday celebration, check out Mister Bone's Easter post here.
Happy Easter everyone! Hope you find the prize egg! (If you do, mind sharing with a sista?)

Dead Hooker in a Trunk (2009)
I've procrastinated writing about this film for a couple of reasons. 1) I didn't feel that my mediocre writing abilities could explain how much I loved it. and... 2) So many of my fellow "horror bloggers" were reviewing it on their blogs. Now that some time has passed since everyone else's review and I have a newfound self-confidence, I feel it's time for my review.
I watched a fellow fan's screener a while back and LOVED IT. I had heard nothing but great things about this one, but it didn't even prepare me for how much I loved it. There are some amazing artistic images, it's got the typical humor that those who like horror adore. The screenplay is so well written that it escapes the silly that is so typical of this genre. Jen and Sylvia Soska knocked it out of the park with this! The actors are great, the plot is twisted and keeps you at attention. I can't wait for the U.S. release for Dead Hooker in a Trunk. I'm sure to buy a couple for good measure or at least to share with those who haven't been lucky enough to see it yet! Keep your ears and eyes out for this one. I promise it doesn't disappoint!
A few of my favorite screenshots...
These ladies make a better horror film than most men could dream of. I'm proud to share a gender with them! Beautiful, Smart and straight up BADASSES! The Soska Sisters are truly talented ladies. Be sure to keep a look out for their newest film, American Mary. I look forward to seeing what else these Twisted Twins have up their sleeves.

Me and The Beatles
The saying goes, "Everything is mind over matter, if you don't mind then it will not matter." Good advice most of the time, but I'm a stresser. I worry about everything including things that are beyond the scope of my control. Lately someone much, much older and wiser than myself told me to "Let it Be". Yeah, yeah...old people and Beatles references, right? But after some thought, it makes much more sense. I contemplated every angle of everything I did and still was no closer to understanding why things were...confusing. I took a step back, and "Let it Be"...then it all was clear to me. Sometimes we just need that moment of "Aha". I'm not so worried right now, I have this brilliant plan to escape until I have that Aha moment every time something bothers me. I had a great weekend with four, read that, FOUR days off consecutively! I go back to work tomorrow, but it's safe to say I go back to work well rested and happy for the first time in a while. Funny how time with my boys, a horror movie marathon, xbox, football, hockey, and loads of sleep will make me a whole new me. I thought I'd post some highlights of my R&R.

Kill, Kill, Kill!!!
Okay, so for the last few days I've done little more than play xbox, work and spend time with my boys, but they had to sleep sometime. As soon as they were down for the count...I'd start playing. I can't seem to stop killing zombies in Left 4 Dead. There is something so relaxing about the perfect headshot that I can't pull away. Halo Reach gets here today and I'm far less skilled at killing anything in it. I can kill zombies all day but put me against a friend of mine a city away and I freeze. I guess we'll see if I can't get over my shit. If not there's always Singularity and Assassins Creed II. What the hell, I may even play Fable III....only time will tell.

Scream (1996)
I missed my 100th post!?! How dare I! I had this boring rant about how much blogging has helped me be more constructive with my time, but I'm sure you would rather read something entertaining.
Anywho, I'm back again with another Terror Tuesday post.
In honor of the release of Scream 4, I'm going old school with....
Scream
I liked this movie when it was released, if for nothing but Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lilliard. The ruggedly handsome "bad boy" and silly comic relief, what's not to love? After seeing it the first time, I'd recommend not watching it for a decade or so. The surprises aren't the same when you can quote the lines. I'm sure most of you have already seen it, but if it's been a while, watch it again for old time's sake.

My So Called...Life?
I don't know how much more I'm going to be asked to endure. From working seven days straight, to moving and having disaster after disaster...I can't deal with another catastrophe! I have to be up bright and early to work again tomorrow after working today and unpacking after work. I've managed to hang up my curtains in the living room. My roommate brought in his sofa and huge "man" tv. I've unpacked clothes and linens. Installed the washer and dryer just to wash my work clothes. And for some reason people are asking what my problem is...
I haven't been so stressed in a very long time. It's progressively gotten worse over the last few weeks. I don't like blogging about personal trials, but I'm breaking down at this point. That is what this was meant for initially. Just for me to vent. It is what it is. I'm going with that phrase in everything from now on. I'm tired of trying to figure out things that aren't meant for me to understand. I'm stepping back and going to let whatever happens...happen. I give up.
At least my living room is pimp though! Here are some pics of what we've accomplished so far.
I don't know how much nerdier two kids could be. *Note the two laptops, Xbox with two joystick controllers (not mine btw) I think I'm going to be okay eventually, if I just take a minute to breathe once in a while. I just can't seem to find a moment to gasp for air.

Kevin Smith to the Rescue
After another horrible day, Kevin Smith doesn't fail. I can always fall on any one of his movies to make me forget. This time it's Clerks. (Probably my second favorite of his)
Here is one of my fav scenes....enjoy

Deftones- Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
One more for WBW. It's becoming more and more apparent that some of these songs cause me to become introspective and somewhat depressed. Part of me wants to go back to my regular posts, most of me wants to embrace these emotions and just let them out. Either way, Deftones is and will always be my favorite band, no matter the state of mind it creates for me.

Splice (2010)
I've been saying I'd catch this movie "sometime" for a long time now. I finally sat down and watched it tonight for this week's Terror Tuesday post and loved it.
The ethical situations are some I've debated for years now. I was disturbed with some of the subject matter; however, it's such an emotional human story that makes you choose a side. I don't want to go into detail here, but I will say watch for yourself. After seeing it tonight, I will be purchasing it for my very own soon.
Del Toro has yet another winner for me. He is absolutely brilliant!

It (1990)
I know it may be surprising for someone like me to have been terrified of clowns as a child. Looking back, I'm sure this is one of the largest reasons why. Tim Curry is in my top five favorite actors of all time and for good reason. He caused me to have to go to therapy as a kid for his role in this movie. I had nightmares that turned into daydreams...and eventually called 911 because I knew I saw Pennywise in my house! (I was six, give me a break) Even now I cringe when he says his famous "They all float" line in this movie. No amount of anti-anxiety meds and counseling sessions can erase that for me.
This is one I don't think I will be showing to my own children for years to come. I haven't been able to watch it in it's entirety in twenty years. When looking for terror...this one is it for me.
Enjoy... It.

Deftones- The Passenger (ft. Maynard James Keenan)
Even the opening to this gives me chills. This is my favorite song of all time, and I wanted to save it for last. Something is almost forcing me to post it now. After the week I have had, full of bad news and emotional chaos, I feel it's time to post the crem`e de la crem`e of Deftones songs (my opinion only).
*WARNING* Mini-rant ahead- proceed with great caution!!!
Sometimes you have to depend on
music/art/literature just to make it through the day, and this gets me there. Chino's voice somehow makes me re-evaluate things in my life, which at this point seems to be undergoing constant construction. I am not a fan of change in general. I will find comfort in things that hurt me, make me feel insecure, or are just bad for me all around; however, now is the time for me to stop feeling sorry for myself and be an adult. I'm going to finally give up the desire to be happy and just settle for being alive. Hapiness is an chemical imbalance anyway, right? Indifference is a truely beautiful thing for most people, and the proof is how we all distance ourselves from one another when the going gets tough. I have someone's back no matter what...I wish I could say the same for everyone else. I am always dependent on what someone else wants/needs/feels...just like their passenger, but now I wanna drive msyelf for a change.
*End of Rant*
I'm not sure when this Wednesday post will ever return to Way Back Wednesday in the usual sense, but I do know I have an almost endless supply of tracks to use for Deftones' Wednesday posts...you are in for a weekly treat for as long as I feel like posting them.

Event Horizon (1997)
This is one of those that makes me refuse to sleep for days. No child should be allowed to watch it, ever! To be honest, this one scared me to a point that no other film has touched before or since. I've thought of watching it again all these years later and just can't...
It has great actors, an amazing story, and terror like no other. Watch it, if you dare, but don't say you haven't been warned!
